A Look At How God Views You

Are you a good person?

For most of us, we answer, "of course, I'm a good person."  However, let's ask the question from God's perspective.  The following questions are based on God's rules for life and living (which are summarized in Exodus 20 & Deuteronomy 5, 6).

Take God’s test to see:

  1. Do you value things over God?
  2. Have you made a god to suit yourself?
  3. Have you used God’s name in vain?
  4. Is Sunday a day for play?
  5. Have you ever dishonored your parents?
  6. Have you ever been angry with someone?
  7. Have you ever lusted after someone?
  8. Have you ever stolen something (even a pencil from work)?
  9. Have you ever lied (even a little “white lie”)?
  10. Have you ever coveted something?

How many questions did you answer “Yes” to?

If you are honest with yourself you answered yes to all of them, because we are not good.  There is no one on earth that has kept the Law of God perfectly and we are all deserving of God’s wrath and judgment.  But God in His great love and mercy sent Christ Jesus to take the punishment for sinners.  He took sinner’s place.  This gift is received by faith alone.  Believing that He did that for you gives you eternal life.  God sees us as good when we receive His gift of eternal life because He sees the goodness of what Jesus did for us.
